First day - Musée Rodin

After my plane touched down from Paris, I took a cab with Dad and Zara to their hotel and my check-in time to the apartment was scheduled for 5pm.

We explored the neighbourhood of 15e where I was living, and attempted to start a bank account. Unfortunately, we hit problem no 1. in Paris; HSBC refused to allow me to create a bank acc. Apparently, if you are unable to produce proof that you will be living in Paris for more than a year, you are not allowed to open a local bank account with them. HSBC referred us to La Poste - Paris local postal service which also allows people to open temporary accounts - unfortunately, they required a heck lot of documents. So, we didnt manage to create a bank account. 

But I got my phone card from L'Orange which cost 30euros for unlimited SMS/Calls to french numbers (free international incoming) and 1 GB 3G a month. After getting our lunch form a random Pizza place - our pizza was made on the spot in this big oven on a pizza stone!), we decided to go to Invalides and check out Musée Rodin.

We were able to see the Hotel des Invalides from the museum. Though a small museum + garden, it was indeed beautiful. Being a Visa holder under 26 = free entry to all museums. Gotta love such perks.

The Thinker, the most famous/reknown statue in the park. Every statue looked amazing. Even random statues of body parts looked nice amidst the well groomed coned shape trees and colourful flowers in full bloom. 

The weather was great, the breeze was cooling, the sun was shining, it was an amazing day, despite running around to no avail, and a little family drama. While at the museum, we attempted and failed with the selfie stick and eventually ended up breaking it one of the days #ifail.
