Along with the Alkmaar cheese market tour, we visited some of the windmills in Zaanse Schans as well. There were only 3 big working windmills in the region we drove by, and we stopped by one of the windmill museums to have a look.
Waterloopleinmkrt in Amsterdam sold really quirky things in all varieties, from vintage dresses and coats, vintage cameras and postcards, little household trinkets, to actual furnitures!
I kind of expected the Flower Market to sell actual flowers, though the stalls did sell some real flowers, they were mostly selling flower seeds and root or full pots of flowers. You could get a whole bunch of flowers like 20flowers beautifully arranged for like less than 10 Euros! And also, who knew flowers grew from such weird root looking like things?! They even sell Venus Fly Traps, why would anyone need that sort of plant, I do not know.
On our last day, we went to the Heineken Experience
We didn't include this on our plan, but we had extra time to kill on our last day in Amsterdam, and since it was drizzling, we took went in anyway.
It was a really interactive tour, a little expensive -18Euros, but we got 2 beers each, plus a chance to pour our own glass of beer!
Even though it started pouring heavily a little after, we took our our handy dandy umbrellas (mine, not so much since it broke that day) and headed for Vondelpark.
A very different feel compared to the parks in France, but, it was an enjoyable walk in the rain.
The "moss pond" where ducks swim in a puddle of green water was something I have NEVER seen before!
We also saw a bad prepping/doing a tech run, unfortunately songs were all in dutch, so we couldn't sing along.

Side note: Amsterdam is really gorgeous, looking back at the photos makes me miss Netherlands already. Loving my weekend travels around Europe!
