Being their first Christmas Market experience, the family was very excited, and ALOT OF food was consumed that evening.
Compared to Manchester Christmas Market, the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has a lot more music and excitement. Probably because it is getting closer to Christmas and things are getting festive ;)
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland also seems bigger, and has all these games and rides - children and adults screamed as they are being swung high up into the air.
My siblings and I are always up for a rollercoaster ride, but when the temperature is 5degrees, we'd rather have our bratwurst sausage and just watch from the ground. Pretty sure our faces will freeze if we're up there.
As expected, the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is a very popular Christmas season destination for both travelers and Londoners. The best time to go to avoid the crowd is about 5pm on a weekday. Never EVER go on a weekend. My family tried entering on a Saturday evening, and there was a horrifyingly long queue it was as if there would be a Taylor Swift concert performance in the market. Going on a weekday = less children + you can breathe while walking around + you get to stop and take some photographs. More importantly you get to have dinner at the market without having to deal with long queues and being shoved around!
The way they grill the salmon is just too cool!
The good thing about winter time is that it gets dark at 4pm. It feels like night time at 5pm and you get the feel of a Christmas Night! This is the only time I'm glad the sunsets early.

Walkin' In A Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park, London

As students living on a budget, £2.20 to take the tube from South Kensington to Oxford Circus costs too much. So instead of taking the tube, we decided to take a nice little stroll across Hyde Park to get to Oxford Street to kill sometime before an international student mixer last week. 
The cool weather in London makes walking around really enjoyable. It was a nice having a slow late afternoon stroll through hyde park, watching ducks and swans bathe themselves and little children running around playing with bubbles and chasing pigeons.
I get it now why people say London is grey. Everything, including the sky just seems to be a little greyer over in London. Did not have much trouble with the weather initially when I first arrived last week, but as of late, its been getting a lot colder, windier, and raining a lot more. Nevertheless, I'm still enjoying the life here in London.
Also, living 5 mins away from school is always a good thing. Longer sleeping hours, I will not complain!
Walking out of Hyde Park, we saw the Marble Arch. Looked like a Minature Arc de Triomphe, though I'm not sure if it has the same significance to London as the Arc de Triomphe has to France. After passing the Marble Arch, we could finally say "Hello Oxford Street!"
Ending off with the typical bright red London double-decked bus that everyone knows about. Hope you enjoyed the pictures, I can't wait to visit more places in London (and perhaps - sooner than later - other parts of the UK as well!)

Hello everyone! Quick little updates, I'm currently blogging from my new hostel in Imperial College.
Settling in has been a little complicated, I've been really busy going from places to places, getting food supplies and necessities for my dorm, settling administrative issues etc.
On the bright side, I've met many new people; other asians, friends, europeans. My room mate is adorable, and the people living on my floor are really nice! Hopefully we have more fun together in the future.
The weather in London just got really cold! That means busting out the layers, long pants and coats. Desperately awaiting for the arrival of the rest of my clothes before I can start dressing up appropriately for the weather.
Freshers fair today was exciting. Imperial has SO MANY co-cirricular activities. Many different clubs and unions to participate in. Theres literally something for EVERYONE. Hopefully I start dancing again and maybe try something new like aerial silk? ;)
School officially starts next monday. My time table looks horrible. But I'm hoping things go well. Introductory lectures on thursday, wishing myself luck! So not looking forward to having to use my brains again, but well, maintaining a positive outlook on this.
Imperial is located right beside Hyde Park, so one of the days the group of us REP students went over and had our own mini picnic for lunch!
We had fun talking, lazing around, people watching and enjoying our 1 pound loaf of bread with random spreads that we bought from Sainsbury's.
This adorable black dog smelled our food and headed over to us looking for it, it was so nice and friendly! There are loads of nice friendly dogs (that don't bark at strangers) around here in London.

As you can see, the leaves are still pretty green and everything looks quite summery. Temperatures are about 13degrees, and do go down to like single digits at night. I can't wait for the leaves to turn orange and start falling.
